This quadriptych is a graphic representation of the impact of human-caused climate change on wild animals. While Every Animal in the World seems expansive and dense, so does Every Animal Extinct Since The Industrial Revolution. Each animal in The IUCN Red List is drawn over each other, first as distinctive characters that I wanted to memorialize, purposefully individualizing them. But the composition begins to lose the individual parts for a pattern of homogeneity and clutter. Although the final design becomes abstracted, patterns are revealed through the repetition. This is the first iteration of this project, I revisit the topic again in 2017.
